Depreciation held on the asset record, not in a separate file

Depreciation kept apart from the asset it belongs to needs a manual update every time that asset changes.

For teams already running Recoup for active assets, depreciation is held on the same asset record as custody, location, and approval history. It does not sit in a separate file the team maintains by hand.

How depreciation works inside Recoup

When an asset is added to Recoup, its full depreciation schedule displays on the asset detail, ready for reporting on any date range across past, present, and future. The value is available immediately. Other systems run depreciation manually or close and reopen periods before a value can be read; Recoup does not. The finance contact reads depreciation status on the same record as custody, location, and approval history.

Move depreciation forward with the asset

Depreciation that lives outside the asset system falls behind with every transfer and reassignment. Recoup holds it with the asset record, so status is visible beside the asset’s current position.
